Almond Crescent Cookies


  • 2 sticks of unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/3 cups white granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup finely ground almonds
  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • confectioner or powdered sugar for the top of the cookies


  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.
  2. Next, cream your butter and sugar until it is light and fluffy.
  3. Then, add in your vanilla and almond extracts, as well as your ground almonds. Stir the mixture until it’s well combined. 
  4. Now, slowly add in your flour. 
  5. Dump out your cookie dough onto a lightly floured surface, and shape it into a ball. Next, using a rolling pin, roll the dough into a large oval.  
  6. Take your crescent cookie cutter, lightly flour the cutting side, and press it into your dough, creating your crescent cookies. Then, place them onto a baking sheet, leaving enough room for them to exand (approximately 2 inches).
  7. Now, bake them for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
